Summit Presentation: Teaching Movement Training : Purposeful Progressions that lead to Perfect Performance Getting your feet moving in training sessions has literally exploded in the sport conditioning and fitness industries over the past 5 years. Plyometrics, agility, and speed training can be utilized with a diverse group from the elite athlete, to the weekend warrior, to a 10 year old aspiring athletes. The goal of any training session should be to maximize transfer from the training floor to the desired playing environment. Are you using the right progressions or driving your athletes to physiotherapists? This lecture will introduce you to the proper training techniques and progressions for safely training agility and plyometrics. You will learn the scientific foundation for the use of this type of training to augment speed and power development. This session also provides detailed video progressions for beginner to advanced exercises. The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly: A research and experience driven look at Integrating Balance into Functional Training and Sport Conditioning. Join Andrew for an informative and interactive research driven session on Integrated Balance training. Over the last 5 years, the amount of research on training for balance as it relates to sport performance has increased significantly. Through lecture, open discussion, and video analysis, Andrew will examine the balance controversy to help clarify the research by presenting and discussing studies that both support and oppose training on an unstable surface. The purpose of this session is to increase your knowledge about the Integration of Balance into your workouts and provide a more in depth understanding of this essential component of the Twist Sport Performance Paradigm. |
